What is TutorNest?
TutorNest joins two things that usually come separately: a private English teacher, and daily practice at home. The teacher teaches once a week, and the practice carries the lesson through the other days.
Learning at TutorNest covers first letters and sounds, words, reading, grammar and talking. It is matched to a child's level, not to their school grade.
How does a week at TutorNest work?
- One live one-to-one lesson of 45 minutes with the same teacher, at a time the family picks. Lessons are by video, and in-person lessons also exist.
- About ten minutes of practice a day in an app. Practice is built from what the teacher is working on, and each question appears as a small game.
- A wrong answer is explained, and comes back later in another form.
TutorNest begins with a short starting-point check, so practice opens at the child's level. From there, practice adapts to each skill separately.
What does the family see?
TutorNest parents see the next lesson, the note the teacher writes after each lesson, how each skill is going, and the week's practice. The teacher sees the same progress before the next lesson.
What does TutorNest promise about children's privacy?
Children at TutorNest have no account and no password. A parent sets up the child's app. TutorNest has no advertising and no analytics cookies.
